Your onslaught of defense of your leader only proved my point. I waited for it to happen and it has begun. Over 60 posts added in less than 5 hours time with countless others that took the time to read and refresh.. and refresh.. and refresh.

The definition of "Cult"

The Merriam-Webster online dictionary lists five different meanings of the word "cult"32.

Formal religious veneration
A system of religious beliefs and ritual; also: its body of adherents;
A religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also: its body of adherents;
A system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator;
Great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book).

The Random House Unabridged Dictionary definitions are:

A particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies;
An instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, esp. as manifested by a body of admirers;
The object of such devotion;
A group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc;
Group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols;
A religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader;
The members of such a religion or sect;
Any system for treating human sickness that originated by a person usually claiming to have sole insight into the nature of disease, and that employs methods regarded as unorthodox or unscientific.

Lowtax's original humor site spawned a cult which was most likely the last thing he ever imagined doing. I do believe it was unintentional but the second that Richard saw the potential of dollar signs, he capitalized on the opportunity much like most other Cult leaders do and have done. Cult leaders absorb their income from their masses of followers and continue to try to recruit to further maximize that income. They tend to have severely distorted levels of reality and morality. Virtually every aspect of Richard Kyanka's life has involved shady practices and behavior.

The truth is the truth. Richard knows himself what he has done in his life as do thousands of those who witnessed his behavior over the years, some of which he has even brought up again over time. Things like his departure from GameSpy for example. Richard has always been unable to hold a job much less get along with anyone. If it wasn't for his cult leader status, he would still be living the life that most of his followers lead. A very lonely and pitiful existence questioning why the world is against them.. at least that is, until Something Awful came into their life.

To you goons who defend Richard Kyanka and especially those who have witnessed his support of piracy and his past possession and obsession with crude and illegal pictures, you represent some of the worst of the worst in his cult. People so disconnected from reality that they simply can not step back and realize the harm that Richard Kyanka caused to all branches of music, movie, television and game development and production. People so sick and twisted that they would defend a man that previously got off to the most sickening and disgusting pictures known to man especially those involving children. A man that now has a daughter who may already be a victim of sexual abuse but unable to even speak about it. A man that would no sooner welcome you into his cult than turn on you after profiting and attempt to humiliate you with those that you assumed were your brothers. SNAP BACK INTO REALITY ALREADY.

You will never snap out of it unless you force yourself out. Why do cult members throughout history deny the fact that they're a cult? Because they do not see from the perspective of the real world. The government constantly monitors and tries to shut down or interfere with cults whenever possible and what happens? The members constantly defend their leader as a good man or defend their group as being no where near a cult. The goal of this is not to save any of you. It is not to convince you to stop supporting your leader. The point of this is to expose the man, the cult and the behaviors of all of you to those that are not aware. Those that can see from the outside perspective and potentially keep and eye on or react to the red flags.

You are dealing with a mentally ill mastermind criminal who stepped on virtually every single person that he came across to profit and make it to where he is. Your community is so obsessed with Uwe Boll being an asshole when Richard Kyanka's complete existence with his site originally was built upon his humilition of others and he still continues running his operation practically the same way although more forums based. While some people on the Something Awful forums may not be among those that are completely tied into the cult, the majority are and this is the issue. He is a sick and twisted individual. All of his downfalls are always everyone else's fault and anything illegal that he does is always something he knows nothing about.

Lowtax offered you all salvation from the real world. Freedom from being judged for your looks or your weight or your stuttering problem or your mental disorder or your handicap. Unfortunately however, the community blossomed in the wrong way. The obsession with the change in status is astound, more so than any other observed internet community in the history of online communication. The goal is to "become a goon". To earn your status, to put in your time. Once you earn that, you feel that you belong. You just "get it". The most twisted and elite wind up in FYAD or BYOB. Others find their way to the file sites if they didn't sign up just for that. If you need something, you always know that the "goons" will be there for you. Lowtax wields the ultimate power however, where he can simply mention a website, name, phone number or email address and the target is put through the worst the community can do.

Something Awful is a danger in practically all ways. Richard Kyanka is a danger to society, his family, the people on his forum and copyright law. Anyone that looks hard enough can confirm anything stated on this blog. Those of you that are wrapped up in being a "goon", I sincerely feel sorry for you. I hope one day you can all break free from the disconnection from reality that Lowtax and the goon hive mind has put you through. I do not believe it is all of your faults for getting caught up in it, you are more victims than anything else. Perhaps one day some of you will awake, hopefully before pissing away your lives or getting more wrapped up in illegal activities or social disfunction. Sadly, the truth is cultists believe in their leader, their cause and their fellow brothers (or "goons") in this situation. No one can tell me that anyone in the picture below believed that their mission was not normal or within the scope of reality :
